Rent a vWorker does not charge any membership fees, nor do we have fees for posting jobs in certain categories, or fees for canceling a job, using our posting editor, utilizing our dispute feature, NDA's (non-disclosure agreements), transfer of copyright, private bidding, job post or bidding upgrades, etc. The limitations of which we place on our site are outlined in our Terms of Service and legal pages, though such limitations mainly place restrictions on illegal, immoral or inappropriate use of our freelance - 'work and hire online' website.
This page is on our site because it is something users look for, but since we are not structured with a pay-per-use model there isn't much to say here. Given the business models that our competitors use, it is easier to detail what fees and restrictions we do have than to try to cover the fees that we don't. We have an end of job percentage fee that is paid when the project is complete and the employer releases the funds to the worker (this means the worker never has to post money up front to secure work). This percentage ranges from 6% - 15%. Other than this one fee, there are only two other fees that our users will encounter. One is a 3.5% cancelation fee if a job goes into arbitration and is subsequently canceled (after the 24 hour grace period) or the user is found at fault. This fee is assessed because when we refund the payment to the employer we do not get the merchant fees that we originally paid to transfer the funds to escrow credited back to us. However, if an employer is found at fault in arbitration but opts to reuse funds from a job canceled through arbitration this fee is waived. The second is an in-house processing fee and whatever fee the payment processors charge for workers to receive withdrawals (this varies depending on the withdrawal method that you choose and is charged after we release payment). We have a simple business model with logical pricing; it is sufficient to maintain our website and business related expenses to ensure that our venue is safe, secure and reliable.
So that's it - unlike Freelancer, oDesk, eLance, Guru, iFreelance and People Per Hour, Rent a vWorker does not charge our members unnecessary fees for using the site - And we provide a 100% guarantee on all projects (for free).
